One Flushing is a model affordable intergenerational community that provides several neighborhood-focused amenities in one mixed-use development.
With forward-thinking architecture, One Flushing mixes affordable housing with commercial and community resources, including a community facility program that provides senior care services, immigration assistance, and a public community center.
A partnership of Monadnock, the Asian Americans for Equality (AAFE), and HANAC worked with government agencies and the local community to rezone a former parking lot adjacent to the Flushing LIRR station in order to create this transit-oriented mixed-use development.
In total, the development includes 232 housing units with a mix of low-income senior, family, and middle-income apartments. Other uses include 25,000 sq. ft of ground-floor commercial space, an underground public parking garage, and 15,000 sq. ft of community facility space.
